Innovation

Investing in the future. Technologies. Customer closeness.

27 March 2026

For more than 100 years we have been developing label printing at the Kaiserstuhl – technically precise, partnership-minded, open to change. In recent years we have comprehensively modernised our production base – with the aim of meeting our customers’ growing demands for quality, speed, commercial viability and individualisation even more specifically.
To that end, we have invested more than seven million euros in new technology and modernised production processes since 2020. We recently completed this investment phase with the commissioning of a high-performance press for combined offset and flexographic printing, and a further digital press for self-adhesive labels. Not in order to reinvent ourselves – but to keep thinking through what defines us. In a changing market, we see targeted investment in technology as an essential foundation for continuing to grow together with our partners.

Technologie gezielt weitergedacht

The past years and months have been marked by numerous challenges – from material shortages and supply-chain disruption to strongly fluctuating demand. We have used them, and continue to use them actively, to make operational weaknesses visible – and to resolve them.
Step by step and during ongoing production, we have replaced all key sheet-fed and web-fed printing systems with modern, perfectly coordinated equipment, while also creating additional capacity. At the same time we have digitised and streamlined our preparatory and pre-press processes and restructured internal workflows.

Technology with conviction

Our technical decisions do not follow an end in themselves. We want to offer creative, high-quality and sustainable solutions that increase your brand value – implemented in a commercially fair and responsible way. Our new machine park was therefore built together with leading industry experts so that it reliably meets complex requirements, expands creative scope and ensures the highest quality even at high throughput.
For our customers that means: more possibilities in design, greater production reliability on complex jobs, and shorter response times – even for individual requirements, in any run length.

The Endingen site remains at the heart

In the process we have consciously renewed our commitment to the Kaiserstuhl site. In future, too, we want to combine technical excellence and strategic brand competence from here with a highly qualified team. By 2030 we are therefore planning further investment in logistics, production equipment and a creative working environment.
At the same time we are expanding our global presence: in our export market South Africa, our Vollherbst CUBE is currently taking shape, our first location abroad with integrated print production, creative spaces and new digital solutions – as an offering for collaboration with our growing customer base on the ground, but also as a driver of innovation and a source of impetus for new processes at the Endingen site.

Moving forward together

Technology and investment alone are not an end for us. They are a means to an end – to take new paths together with our customers, to act rather than react, and to shape the future. Our ambition is to combine operational excellence, brand-enhancing execution and a partnership mindset.
We would like to take this opportunity to invite you: speak to your contact at Vollherbst, arrange an appointment – and discover our new capabilities. We very much look forward to the exchange with you, which for us is always the beginning and the goal of everything!
