Mosi – the thundering smoke
Mosi is the first-class wine and gin brand of Joseph Dhafana, the leading local sommelier and winegrower. Mosi, an abbreviation of Mosi-oa-Tunya, is the Kololo name for Victoria Falls and translates as “the smoke that thunders”. This World Heritage Site appears as a beautiful drawing on Mosi’’s labels, which now, with the help of the LABELinmotion Smartphone App zu farbenfrohen Wasserfall-Animationen werden.
Matthias Vollherbst says he was inspired by Joseph and his compelling wine and gin labels, and that he wanted to add a narrative element to Mosi. “I was immediately impressed by the authentic relationship between Joseph’s life story and his wine labels. This strong connection and the beautiful drawings of one of Africa’s most famous landmarks offered an excellent opportunity to add an additional layer of reality to an already rising brand.”
There was close collaboration between creative minds and Joseph. The aim was to capture the winemaker’s personality in its entirety.
Through the AR experience, the authentic voice of Joseph’’s voice alongside the roar of the waterfalls and the song of the birds; inspired by the realistic setting of a visit on site.
